Celebrating Selkirk Avenue Jane’s Walk
Do you love the North End? Do you want to see Selkirk Avenue revive and thrive and be a gathering place for renewal and revitalization? Please join me for a walk down Selkirk Avenue as part of the 2024 Jane’s Walk Winnipeg series.
North End Grad Walk 2023
The 2nd Annual North End Grad Walk goes down on Monday June 26 from 6-7pm, starting at St John's High School, a photo stop at Children of the Earth and food/barbecue at RB Russell High School. If you live along Salter, or have friends or family graduating please line up along Selkirk so we can cheer on our grads and encourage the ones that are coming up next!
Pandemic Proof
The smartest people have responded in pandemic specific ways and I am honoured to know so many and to do what I can to help. I have learned how to be a pandemic public speaker and other organizers and organizations have enhanced programs and systems to be pandemic proof.
What's Your (Zoom) Background?
Have you ever seen that account that rates people's Zoom/Skype/Video call backgrounds? I always get a kick out of them! Since some big changes are on the way (ie moving furniture around), I wanted to commemorate my current zoom background and share why it's so special to me.
The Resiliency Trap
Resiliency is a term used to describe individuals who are tough or have the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties. But the way it is often used in academics and media is so problematic that I share my belief that when we only focus on how strong people are, we ignore the many challenges they should never have had to overcome in the first place!
You Are What You Wear
Here are 3 recent initiatives (lol, you'll see why that's funny) that have expressed themselves via fashion. Also thank you to every one in the community who is finding creative ways to support one another in these unprecedented times.
