Once a year Selkirk Avenue gets fancy and celebrates the holidays in style. This year, Indigenous Vision for the North End partnered with sahikiwe festival for some awesomeness that brought out the neighbourhood and provided opportunity for community, and connection.
The Resiliency Trap
Resiliency is a term used to describe individuals who are tough or have the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties. But the way it is often used in academics and media is so problematic that I share my belief that when we only focus on how strong people are, we ignore the many challenges they should never have had to overcome in the first place!

It's a scary world. If you're scared for your kids it means that you are paying attention. There are many questions we can ask to address this fear, but the most important one I can think of is this: What does it mean to truly keep kids safe in such a precarious & ever changing world?
