Worker Rights in Manitoba

Last week was Take Our Kids To Work Day in Canada, a day of the year when parents and guardians are encouraged to bring their children with them to the work place to show them “a day in the life” at their job. For 2 years I worked with SAFE Workers of Tomorrow and shared this knowledge with high school students across the province. I got really familiar with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, risk assessments and of course worker rights. Even though it has been 10 years since I worked there, I still believe that info is essential for young people entering the employment world for the first time and all workers to know about so they can keep themselves safe and alive.

Considering all of that, it seems like a good time to remind all of us about the 4 worker rights we have in Manitoba! Check out the full information at the link below and feel free to share this information with anyone who needs to know about how to protect themselves and others at work.
